La Gioconda is the work of Carolina Ramirez, a lawyer, endurance runner, UVI Mentee, and amazing specialty coffee farmer. This coffee is the result of a happy accident, after an experiment in processing methods led to a coffee that was neither fully washed nor fully honey processed. The result was one of Carolina’s most aromatic and balanced coffees she has produced. The name La Gioconda, Italian for the smiling lady, is Carolina’s nod to Mona Lisa and in her eyes the painting’s androgynous looks, like that of the coffee’s processing.
